High Pressure Glass Cleaning:This tends to be a seasonal task, normally carried out in autumn each year, this is when the days are getting very short, we can remove the heavy growth of both moss and fungi from both the glass and glazing bars, when this is allowed to build up it can cause serious loss of light, many of our growers have told us that annual cleaning can give increased yield of up to 30%.
In these demanding and competitive days this has become a very important part of the annual cleansing of the commercial glasshouse, many smaller growers and indeed garden centres tend to ignore this practice, mainly on the basis that light is not quite so important to them, however there are other factors that should be taken into consideration, these are that of health & safety.
If the moss is allowed to take hold this can freeze in the winter months, and cause expansion, in turn this will lead to glass being cracked and broken sheets of glass, the end result can be expensive reglaze. |
